Not only is Norris Kantor one of the pillars of our community, but he has also celebrated over 50 years with Katz, Kantor, Stonestreet & Buckner. His long tenure brings wisdom and a wealth of knowledge to our firm.
Originally from Logan, West Virginia, his colorful past is an array of accomplishments. In 1953, he graduated from the Virginia Military Institute and was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Air Force. By 1956, he had graduated from law school at West Virginia University, entered the Air Force (where he served as a Judge Advocate), and married his wife, Doris Sue, whose deeds in our community are also highly recognized.
They are the proud parents of three children, a son who is an attorney in Seattle, and two daughters, one living in Chicago, Illinois, and another in Newnan, Georgia. They also have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Norris is a Rotarian, Moose, and Elks Lodge member. In 1954, his father insisted he join the Elks so he would have a fraternal order of friends no matter where he was stationed in the military and around the world. Many times when traveling, Norris did visit other lodges, some in the smallest of towns. He is currently one of the oldest members of Bluefield Elks Lodge 269. He has served as a director in multiple civic organizations and has been president or chairman of many civic organizations, including Bluefield State College Board of Governors, Greater Bluefield Chamber of Commerce, and others.
Besides golf, his other interests include a well-heeled classical music collection and extensive travel. Having visited England, Italy, Greece, Monte Carlo, Budapest, Prague, Berlin, Alaska, New Zealand, Australia, Rio, San Palo, Scandinavia, Iceland, and the Caribbean. Norris is now thinking Beijing and Tokyo could be next on the list.
Throughout his career as an attorney, Norris has represented many high profile clients, corporations, and businesses. Many of these cases are still being spoken of today. His virtues and fairness for the people are exemplified in his simple statement on which the foundation of the firm was built: “Representation for the poorest to the wealthiest.”

Norris was admitted in 1951 to the West Virginia State Bar, U.S. District Court, Southern and Northern Districts of West Virginia, Court of Military Appeals, U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
