Wayne Evans has been with Katz, Kantor, Stonestreet & Buckner since 1985. Born and raised in Bluefield, West Virginia, Wayne holds claim to being a true native of our community.
Wayne learned the value of hard work early on in life and continues to practice this value with his clients. Starting in high school, he worked part-time as a D.J. at WAEY-AM radio and by the time he graduated, was offered a full-time position at the station. Instead, he headed to Roanoke and in the late 70’s served as a police officer (graduated 1st in his class at the Police Academy), detective, and probation officer. This experience became a prelude to what would later become his career in life.
After attending University of North Carolina and Radford University, a chance meeting of his long-time mentor, Charlie Andrews, a judge from Pearisburg, Virginia, at the Atlanta airport, (while departing for his honeymoon), charted a new course for him. He was encouraged to go into law and graduated from Wake Forest University in 1984.
Married to his wonderful wife Cheryl, who is a school teacher in Tazewell, Virginia, they have two children.
Being health conscious, Wayne lifts weights and is often seen on our local golf courses. He is also a self-taught musician on the drums and still enjoys playing the “Pearls”. His musical interests cross many genres.
As a life-long resident of our area, Wayne Evans has astute knowledge of its infra-structure. His loyalty and dedication to those who live and work here is etched in the fiber of our community and his reputation as a member of Katz, Kantor, Stonestreet & Buckner is highly esteemed.
Wayne was admitted in 1984 to the West Virginia Bar, U.S. District Court, Southern District of West Virginia, U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit. Wayne attended the University of North Carolina and Radford University before graduating from Wake Forest University in 1984 to pursue his law career.
