Hedgesville, WV – One Person Dead After Fatal Car Crash
Hedgesville, WV (December 14, 2018) – The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal car crash last night, December 13, that led to one fatality and injuries in two others. The accident happened around 7 p.m. in the 13000 block of Back Creek Valley Road.
When emergency responders arrived at the scene of the accident, one vehicle was found off the side of the road after getting into a collision. Three people were trapped inside the vehicle. One of these victims was identified as 25-year-old Mason Wrispon, who was transported to the hospital and died while there.
Two other people suffered a variety of critical and serious injuries. One was identified as a woman named Brooke Shambaugh, while the other was identified as a 15-year-old whose name is withheld because he is a minor. The 15-year-old is the only person who has since been released from the hospital.
Police say that speed and alcohol-related issues might be to blame for this accident. At this time, police say that the accident is still under investigation.
