Russell A. Williams joined Katz, Kantor, Stonestreet & Buckner, PLLC, in May 2017 to work in the firm’s Charleston office. A native of Charleston, Russell has spent more than 12 years as a defense attorney for large national firms in Atlanta, Georgia, and Charleston, West Virginia.
Frustrated by his corporate clients putting profits over safety and treating victims unfairly, Russell decided to return to personal injury law and use his significant defense firm experience to instead fight for “the little guy.” Russell’s intimate knowledge of how corporations, insurance companies, and health care professionals approach litigation and evaluate claims allows him to offer a unique prospective for the benefit of his clients. Whether in the courtroom or at the negotiating table, Russell now dedicates himself to helping injured people throughout West Virginia stand up to large corporations and achieve the justice they deserve. Russell is additionally licensed to practice law in Kentucky and represents clients throughout the commonwealth.
When he is not working to help clients achieve fair and just compensation, Russell enjoys traveling, running, and enjoying other outdoor activities with his wife, Adaline, his daughter, Taylor, and son Jack. He also is a devoted soccer fan.
Education
Russell graduated in 2000 from Hampden-Sydney College with a B.A. in history, and achieved his Juris Doctor from the University of Miami School of Law in 2004, graduating Cum Laude. During law school, Russell was an editor of the International and Comparative Law Review, a member of the Moot Court Board, and the National Moot Court Team.
