Bio

Wayne Evans has been with Katz, Kantor, Stonestreet & Buckner since 1985. Born and raised in Bluefield, West Virginia, Wayne holds claim to being a true native of our community.

Wayne learned the value of hard work early in life and continues to practice this value with his clients. Starting in high school, he worked part-time as a DJ at WAEY-AM radio. By the time he graduated, Wayne was offered a full-time position at the station. Instead, he headed to Roanoke and served as a police officer (graduating first in his class at the Police Academy), detective, and probation officer. This experience became a prelude to what would later become his career.

After attending the University of North Carolina and Radford University, Wayne had a chance encounter with his long-time mentor, Charlie Andrews, who was a judge from Pearisburg, Virginia. Charlie encouraged him to go into law, leading to Wayne’s graduation from Wake Forest University in 1984.

Wayne is married to his wonderful wife Cheryl, who is a school teacher in Tazewell, Virginia. They have two children.

Being health-conscious, Wayne lifts weights and is often seen on our local golf courses. He is also a self-taught musician on the drums and still enjoys playing the “Pearls”. His musical interests cross many genres.

As a life-long resident of our area, Wayne Evans has an astute knowledge of its infrastructure. His loyalty and dedication to those who live and work here are etched in the fiber of our community, and his reputation as a member of Katz, Kantor, Stonestreet & Buckner is highly esteemed.

Education

Wayne was admitted in 1984 to the West Virginia Bar, U.S. District Court, Southern District of West Virginia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit. Wayne attended the University of North Carolina and Radford University before graduating from Wake Forest University in 1984 to pursue his law career.
