Beckley, WV Victim and Suspect Identified in Fatal Truck Accident

|

Beckley, WV (January 5, 2019) – In Beckley, a fatal truck accident took place this past week that led to the death of one person. The victim and suspect have now been identified.

The man who was driving the garbage truck was identified as 40-year-old Jacob Wayne Johnson of Oak Hill. He has now been charged with negligent homicide in relation to the accident.

The charges stem from Johnson driving with the forks of the garbage truck down and failing to yield the right-of-way, which led to the serious accident that took the life of Terrance Gober II.

The accident took place on North Eisenhower Drive. When Johnson tried to turn into Galleria Place, his truck hit Gober’s Jeep with the forks.

Gober died at the scene of the accident. At this time, the investigation into the matter continues to take place.

We would like to first extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Terrance Gober II, whose life was taken too soon in this serious and life-changing accident for all who have been affected. We hope that the family and friends will find peace and comfort at this time.
