Mercer County, WV Fatal Accident Involving Semi-Truck on I-77

Semi-truckMercer County, WV (March 23, 2019) – Police responded to a fatal accident that took place on Interstate 77 and took the life of one person. The accident involved a semi-truck and a pickup truck.

On Wednesday afternoon, an accident took place near the area of Camp Creek. The West Virginia State Police confirmed that the driver of the pickup truck struck the rear of the semi-truck while he was attempting to pass it.

The pickup truck then left the road and went about 50 feet into a ravine. The 50-year-old truck driver died at the scene of the crash. However, at this time, police have not released the names of those involved.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.
